She pointed out that unlike Singapore, Thailand lacks measures to protect individuals at risk of developing gambling problems.

While some argue in favor of casino resorts for their economic benefits, Chittawan Chanakul, an economics professor at Thammasat University, highlighted Thailand’s challenges in maintaining the rule of law and combating corruption.
